Some altars are harder to get to than others… just ask Valarie and Jake, who had planned to be wed October 7th of 2016 in Savannah Georgia – and then a little guy named Hurricane Matthew decided to change all that and make them postpone. One year later and in their hometown of Dallas, the couple was even happier than most couples because they had waited so long for this day! I feel like you can see this in the photos – the joy and gratitude and absolute love of all involved. I was so thrilled to be there to capture the day from start to finish – from the dress and the first look and private vows, to the elaborate mass ceremony, to the downtown adventure the bride and groom took me on – to the moment when Val and Jake found out that his beloved grandfather passed just after watching their ceremony on Facetime. This day was full of meaning, substance, and the kind of beauty that goes far beyond the shallow or tangible. Val and Jake, I simply adore you… I am so happy I was there for your day… thank you for being so generous, loving, and special. I hope you enjoy the image highlight reel of your perfect, long awaited, much deserved PERFECT DAY.
